These small animals are designed to made from polar fleece. However, other knit fabrics may be substituted.
Try bright colors and prints with contrasting underbodies. Use yarn, pearl cotton or embroidery floss for manes and tails. Buttons, pompoms or embroidery can be used for eyes. The zebra pattern also makes a great little horse.
Polar fleece stretches in both directions, but it stretches more one way than the other. PAY CAREFUL ATTENTION TO THE STRETCH ARROWS ON THE PATTERN PIECES. They should go in the direction the fleece stretches the most.
Polar fleece amounts are given for the minimum amount needed to cut the animal with the proper stretch. Often, more than one animal can be made from the remaining fleece.
